Now that the TV was working, I sanded down the cabinet and repainted it.
The protective plastic screen in front of the picture tube had a lot
of scratches, which I removed by wet sanding with fine sandpaper
up to 1200 grit, followed by a final polish with Novus #2 plastic polish.
